Britain Facing New Terrorist Attacks

The head of the MI5, Jonathon Evans, stated that Britain is facing new terrorist attacks on two fronts, one from the "al'Qaeda extremists" and the other from the IRA (or Irish Republican Army) radicals. For the past three years, Britain has been fighting constant terrorist activity from Northern Ireland. They have hold on modern weaponry that can kill a multitude of British civilians, and it is also known that there is roughly 600 Irish Republicans participating in terroist activities. Evans said in one of his speeches that there are nine suspects and those of which are thought to be terrorists, are "electronically tagged" and put under house arrest. As for the al'Qaeda, terrorist activity in Pakistan has significantly decreased from 75 to 50 percent. Now, the worry is placed on Somalia. There are many British inhabitants training in camps that are run by an al'Qaeda group called al-Shabaab. The UK is worried that these British residents might march back into Britain and bring along with them the rest of their trainees.  Therefore, Britain is staying well-informed on these threats so they can protect their civilians. It is also said in the article that threats made on the UK in the past turned out to be real, so with this case, it is no different and action needs to be taken.
